3. Burbank Hospital Centennial Journal, The Picture of Health at 100, 1890-1990. This book represents an excellent history of medical and hospital care in the city of Fitchburg. It starts out discussing medical care in the 1880's, the arrival of Gardner S. and Sarah H. Burbank to Fitchburg, and the creation of Burbank Hospital. Opened in May 1901, the new Burbank Hospital was built on a hill on the site of the former Nichols Farm, and was comprised of four interconnected, cottage-style buildings. The Hospital expanded to many buildings and had many major achievements over the years, and celebrated "100 Years of Caring" in 1990. This is a soft cover book, 171 pages, and measures 8.5" x 11". It was published in 1991. - Book
