Photo of a group of Fitchburg children, some in blackface, parading neighborhood of Cleghorn to remind people to buy U.S. War Bonds. This photo originally came in a document frame with the following handwritten caption below it: "1941-1945 Second World War 'Peace Was Won' Here a group of Fitchburg Cleghorn young American Citizens, forming a small parade, to help remind people to buy U.S. War Bonds, and stamps. They paraded neighboring streets, as a reminder to do their part for Victory. Most women worked in factories making arms for our soldiers. Men 18 years and up, were sent to fight the War to bring peace to the world. ''God Bless America and Our Allies'" |
