Description |
A group of 28 Stereoscopic Viewer or Stereo View Photo Cards, many taken by J. C. Moulton, Fitchburg photographer. Included in the photos are many scenes from Fitchburg including: The American House, The Rollstone National Bank, The Boulder with a couple sitting on top, the old High School also known lately as the Annex, the Grammar School or Pleasant St School, the Union Passenger Depot, Monument Park and the Soldiers' Monument, the old Court House, and City Hall. The Civil War Soldiers' Monument photo shows the monument decorated for it's dedication in 1874 with many people sitting at the base. There is an American flag drapped on the monument and a banner noting: "America's Heroes." The City Hall photo shows the building decorated with American flags, bunting, and a large "Welcome" sign over the front door. On the back of some of the photo cards is an index of the photos with the title: Fitchburg Views, J. C. Moulton, Photographer, 368 Main Street, Fitchburg, Mass. |
